Bella is an absolutely adorable 5-month female pit bull puppy who was resuced from a potential dog fighting environment and needed special care, such as orthopedic surgery as was performed by Dr. Evers at Val-U-Vet Animal Health in Deland, FL.

 On December 1st, my fianc’e and I were outside doing some yard work, when we heard some dogs fighting over our fence. When we got a closer look, we saw a full grown pit bull and puppy fighting. To make maters worse, our neighbor was cheering them on and yelling at the puppy for not fighting at its best. My fianc’e jumped over the fence and took the puppy, which was crying and limping badly. After dealing with the police, animal control came for the puppy, but the second he told me she was going to be put down, my heart broke and I decided to keep her --- not considering all the work and money it would take to help her recover.
The next day I took her to Val-U-Vet in Deland where they told me little Bella had a broken hip and needed surgery right away! My heart broke, because I knew this little puppy was hurting so badly and all I wanted for her is to get better, but, I knew I couldn't afford this kind of surgery. After calling around, I was introduced to No Pet Left Behind, an organization that helps people, like me, who can't afford the care their animals need. They were so generous and with out them, Bella wouldn't be alive today!
I thank the Lord every day for Val-U-Vet and the No Pet Left Behind organization. Today Bella is doing much better and is the joy of my life! I couldn't imagine my life with out my spoiled baby girl!!!
